Data Analyst II
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst II to join our Data Analytics team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing loan portfolios, payment trends, and financial performance metrics to drive business decisions and support our lending operations. Working primarily with Snowflake and Power BI, you will develop analytics solutions that provide insights into premium finance receivables, risk assessment, collection performance, and revenue optimization. This position offers the opportunity to work with complex financial datasets and collaborate business leaders to improve decision making and company performance.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to monitor loan portfolio performance, payment trends, delinquency rates, and key financial metrics
Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets from Snowflake
Conduct in-depth analysis of loan performance metrics including funded volume, outstanding balances, loss rates, and portfolio aging
Analyze collection effectiveness, payment patterns, and delinquency trends to support risk management.
Collaborate collections, operations, and finance teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
Develop financial models and forecasts to support business planning initiatives
Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing quality assurance checks
Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies through data-driven insights
Document analytics processes, data definitions, and reporting methodologies to maintain institutional knowledge
Support ad-hoc data requests from executive leadership and provide timely responses to analytical inquiries
Required Skills
SQL: Advanced proficiency in writing queries
Power BI: Strong experience creating interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using DAX and Power Query
Excel: Advanced skills including pivot tables, INDEX/MATCH, financial formulas, and data analysis tools
Mathematical & Statistical Analysis: Solid understanding of statistical concepts, financial metrics, data modeling, and analytical problem-solving
Financial Knowledge: Understanding of financial statements, lending operations, and key performance indicators in the finance industry or insurance industry
Communication: Excellent ability to translate complex financial data and analytics into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences
Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to data accuracy and quality, particularly critical for financial reporting and regulatory compliance
Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to break down complex business problems and develop data-driven solutions for financial operations
Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet reporting deadlines, and deliver results
Preferred Skills
Experience working with Snowflake data warehouse platform, including knowledge of Snowflake-specific features
Proficiency in Python for data analysis
Previous experience in premium finance, insurance finance, lending, or financial services industry
Knowledge of lending operations, underwriting processes, and collections management
Familiarity with loan portfolio analytics and credit risk metrics
Experience with financial modeling and forecasting techniques
Familiarity with data visualization best practices and principles
Experience with version control systems (Git)
Knowledge of ETL processes and data pipeline concepts
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field
2-4 years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or financial analytics role
Experience in financial services, lending, or premium finance industry is highly desirable
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
